Kalahari Resorts, Wisconsin Dells and Sandusky, Ohio
When the Kalahari Resort asked me to give the lobby walls of the Ivory Coast a facelift, this is one of the pictures I painted on canvas. The original is 2'x3'. It was scanned . . .
And then the images were digitally-manipulated to create panels like these. The white squares represent windows.
of many of the images appearing throughout the panels.
The panels were printed as wallpaper and applied to the walls.
Here is a picture BEFORE . . .
And After
Another project in the lobby of the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells is a combination of wallpaper and carved 3-dimensional foam
Here is a before shot
And the After I designed and painted the wallpaper completely in photoshop, using close-up textural photos to add depth and interest to the painted items.
You can see the dimensionality of the huts in this photo.
The Great Karoo Restaurant at the Kalahari Resort was redesigned to attract family and kids and this mural is at the heart of the redesign, The white paper surrounding the mural features a description of the desert land known as the Great Karoo in Africa and it's history. Children can often be seen sitting on the bench underneath and reading about the Great Karoo while families wait for a table.
This collage was done in an Executive Boardroom at the Kalahari Resort and features 2 authentic african metal shields.
This collage in a Boardroom of the Kalahari is done with paper, paint and clay.
You can see how clay was used to add dimension to the the elepahants eyes and ears.
Pottery Pizazz had problems attracting customers until we redesigned the front to explain what happens inside. The name is made out of Pottery pieces which can be painted and fired in the shop.
A mural designed to explain the pottery process.
The redesign on this coffee shop included wall finish, mural, it's menu boards and sconces . . .
. . .which were made to look like coffee cups with the creative use of clay.
This is a photo and painting collage designed as a tabletop. It can be digitally manipulated to leave out different items so that every table doesn't look the same.
This painting was done on canvas, digitally-scanned and then turned into wallpaper for a 19' x 9' wall in the condos of the Kalahari in Sandusky, Ohio.
This was painted in a Presidential Suite at the Kalahari.Raised canvas paintings and mud cloth were used. Then very high-res photo was taken and it was turned into wallpaper for the condos in Wisconsin Dells.
Metallic paint, glass, moss and even stones are part of this Signage/mural
